And then you see a bald chick very often because it's the last thing to grow is the head feathers.

What's going here?
These, you say, are not babies.
Whether it's some kind of fella muscling in on the adult and taking over from his daddy at that stage.
Now, it seems an unlikely thing, you know.
But the aggression, another curious thing about robins is sometimes they divide the brood.
And mammy takes one lot and daddy takes the other lot.
Now, if there's rejection by one of them of a youngster, it might simply be that the youngster should belong to the other group.
But I don't know.
These are hairy sort of things that I'm dishing up.

As soon as they're well clear of the parents, you know, and are rejected, that's it.
Derek, yes, a fellow called Alfred Russell Wallace did a lot of work out in that part of the world, in Indonesia and that area.
And he noticed something which was rather strange for the time.
He noticed that at one side of this particular line, all the animals were European Asian.
You know, they had elephants, you had great apes.
