Go back to Sumer a little bit before that since we've had hierarchies.

There's always been warfare because there's always been surpluses of goods and people have tried to steal it from each other.

And so you create armies and you create walls and that's what we do.

We cannot help ourselves.

If birds had developed hands with opposable thumbs, they'd be doing the same thing.

It'd be no different.

And by the way, I think that any visiting alien species is probably no different as well.

They probably were the apex predators of their world as well, which probably is what got them to go out into space.

So their difference, possibly, is that they are ahead of the curve here, and they probably, I'm guessing, have developed a very advanced form of...

i might call rationalization that is a kind of rationalized organization of their society so that things run in a certain way probably with not a lot of wiggle room for um individual initiative and freedom my own opinion so they look at us and they think these humans are violent as hell yes they're very inquisitive they notice everything and

They seem a little unstable.

We are unstable.

We have a very unstable infrastructure.

We've only had electricity for less than 200 years.

We act like this is the normal thing.

And without electricity now, we would all die, right?

Most people would die.

So we're reliant on all of our advanced technology.

And we really don't know how stable this is.

It hasn't existed very long.
