You want to get respect from the people at the top or the people who are hierarchically above you, 'cause we are a species that is hierarchical.
And if you go in there you don't understand that stuff, it can be profound, or if you don't understand how to work in that space, it can be a profound let down for you.
And you have to at times do things that you don't like to do.
You know what I mean?
And that starts with the kids doing the dishes and that starts with the kids tidying up and that starts with the hoovering.
So work ethic.
That will take you anywhere.
That will take you uh honestly I heard Michael O'Deary talking about this recently and he said when he's hiring people, he's not looking at like, do they get a first class honors?
He's looking to see what their summer job was.

And when I w I I've often done interviews with Fulbright, you know, and the the scholarships there and you're looking at students and you're talking to them and trying to figure out uh you know what they want to do with a career.
Um you're looking at what are they as a person or who are they and what what do they do and what do they stand for and what are they capable of.
The
Brendan, this is a fundamental thing I've learned over the years.
Getting good, really good at something.
Nothing's gonna come in and land on your lap.
You know this, where you know, nothing's gonna land on your lap.
You have to become really good at something and then things land on your lap.
And I think we've not given that message to our kids.
You have to work hard to become good at something, and then the door is open.
