Catherine, so far we've talked about this in policy terms, systems-wide terms, really important arguments that we've examined, but I'm thinking about our listeners who are working in companies, maybe in sustainability roles, they've been given the responsible AI brief,
But they're not AI specialists themselves.
They're working with people perhaps that they would normally have been working with in the past.
And they're trying to make sense of this.
And we're trying to help them to do that.
I know you work with companies on these these issues from a company level perspective.
that's not in the tech industry, not a big tech company, but it's just a company that is using AI.
And this year, by the way, my experience is almost every company has started to use AI.
Last year, it was all about big tech companies.
This year, it's about every company.
So for those people who are sort of struggling with this and working out what they should be doing, what would your advice to them be?
And how are they doing?
On that discrimination point, because I know you've done work with companies on LGBT plus discrimination and equality.
The Indian colleagues I was referring to, I was in a meeting with them about...
about AI.
And if you typed Indian, I forget which of the applications it was, but if you typed Indian into the application, what came back was American First Nation peoples, because the large language models are so concentrated on the English language, and particularly English language as used in the United States.
We're not against the US, by the way.

But both of those examples show that discrimination is a real risk.
What can companies do to try to avoid that?
