And I felt sort of an endearment with them.
And that actually is an important quality to have as a public communicator, the sense that you can really relate with your audience,
whether it's from a shared experience or whether it is in the form of sympathy and empathy because you know what they're going through.
And these are some of the most important qualities of all, of effective communication.
So I kind of learned it by accident a long time ago.
Yeah, for sure.

And you
Today, with virtual presenting now being a thing, now being just part of a communicator's makeup, that suggests an entirely different level of challenge.
Because it's not like any of the other stuff we talked about goes away.
This just gets added on top of that.
That in addition to all of that other stuff, you have to stare into a cold camera lens and somehow figure out how you're going to engage an audience.
Yeah, you know, hopefully not for long, but, you know, I mean, none of us knew any of this before COVID.
Before COVID, virtual presentation didn't even necessarily have a camera.
It was, you know, a webinar.
It was just your voice and a sharing screen so you can show, you know, your mouse moving over some software or something.
So when all of us were thrust away
when all of this had this thrust upon us, there was a tremendous amount of forgiveness and acceptance.
You know, we hate this, it sucks, this is our new reality, how long is this gonna last?
Thank goodness for Zoom.
