So there was a couple of things that came into lessening the risk on making the move.

Uh but clearly where we had the player rated, clearly if we made a you know, an astute decision, the player's further along the timeline, uh, we got our development people in and we get uh you know, Sam going at 'cause we were only making it for that particular player.

And then um

You know, w we're getting ahead of the game we think and we still have some flexibility and we didn't handcuff the club.

There we go.

It all came together, uh, a lot of people involved, a lot of discussions, but it happened quick.

Like it was maybe approached on the bus.

got traction middle of it and then you know, we had to hold him off for a couple of picks to ensure our guy was there.

So there was a lot of people to play the hand in the decision and, you know, Jackson for sure, uh, you know, Bill and Gretz and Warren.

So lots of people in and we just decided to make the move.

And we like being aggressive.

Uh, I think

He made

a nice progression, uh I think after Christmas you could feel the gains getting greater.

Um a little sluggish maybe offensively out of the start, uh you know, you're kinda staring at some box scores type of thing.

But once I got into seeing play, I felt terrific about him uh personally and then I know when talking to the development people that were in there, you know, maybe the numbers weren't quite there yet, but they were quite happy with his play.

I felt it was just a matter of time for the you got some uh sort of puck luck in the bounces so that

Kinda got him to the first half and then his second half.

Uh, we saw determination, we saw the goal of, you know, trying to win and you know, elevating himself to secure the number one C spot on that uh you know, deep team of, you know, their whole top nine where NL drafts picks.
