That's Radio Heads, How to Disappear Completely. I was at a uh service, celebration of life for Edmonton blogger from the cult of hockey, uh Bruce McCurdy on Sunday. Alan Mitchell did a great job. uh sort of hosting the event, David Staples, with a terrific speech along with several family members and friends and they concluded with that song and I I thought it'd be appropriate, uh, since Spruce uh loved hockey and loved the Oilers and was truly You know, they referred to him as a Renaissance man uh at uh the celebration of life, but to me it was more like the guy from Doseki, you know, like one of the most interesting guys. I'll never forget he showed up uh by the way, this is Orders now, Bob Stoffer with you.

Uh he showed up a number of years ago at uh I think Craig Metavich had just returned to the organization. And uh so maybe two thousand twelve and he showed up for a press conference which was in the old back hall at uh Rexall Place and Bruce was in uh a plaid shirt and uh a pair of shorts which is atypical for most sportscasters. And MACT uh talked to me after the press conference. He said, Who's that guy? And I go, that's uh Bruce McCurdy. He's uh he does some writing and you know I think he's like doing some blogging and stuff. He goes, what an interesting fellow and I go, well he's an astronomer Yeah. And he goes, Really? And uh Mac T looked at me and he goes, hell of a lot smarter than you and me, eh?

And we go, Oh yeah. So anyways, look, uh that was uh on Sunday, and I just wanted to put a a shout out for the uh McCurdy family and everybody that was involved uh with that. Uh yesterday, thank you to Brynn Griffiths for filling in on Oilers Now. I was down at the uh Chancellor's uh COP uh with the University of Alberta and uh saw several uh prominent uh Edmonton based uh business people and past politicians and I I do want to put a shout out to the folks at ATB, uh John Winwick and Chris Noble and company, um what a great time. I bumped into uh well frankly, the last great mayor we had, which was Stephen Mandel. And uh Steve got stuff done. Gary Bettman of course referenced how important uh Steven Mandel was to uh getting Ice District uh put to place.
