I just want to ask you more broadly about the free agency system and

Uh are you bemused at the system where your compensation pick for a twenty six year old on a seven year deal worth more than nine million dollars is going to be diluted by a two year deal for a thirty eight year old?

I I spoke yesterday on the show about free agency and and the system needing a fix because I think it's it's broken and and Brisbane have used that system perfectly to bring in a couple of free agents from the worst teams last year to go and play important roles in their premiership.

What's your view on whether there should be limits imposed on free agents going to certain tiers of the latter or or the next phase of free agency which must be addressed?

What about Jamar Hugo Hagen?

Do you expect him to pen a new deal for for next year?

Uh, this time last year Bailey Humphrey was all the trade radio rage.

Uh I think he was about to go on his on his walk around the tan uh about combine time uh from memory.

But then the the turnaround in in the second half of this year to result in a an extension for him at Gold Coast and his recommitment there.

Can you talk us through how that played out and and how valuable uh an addition that will be for you over the next uh four years now?

Do you want to uh put that one uh to bed and say uh where the club stands on on the the Christian Petrarca front?

I think Tom McCartan stands above many as well as uh a free agent, given he'll be an unrestricted free agent.

Uh so that adds an extra element to the value that clubs will be able to place on him, knowing they won't have to go through the trade rigmarole that we're seeing at the moment with

uh Zach Butters and that we'll undoubtedly see with Matt Rowell if he chose to exercise his free agency at the end of next year.

Uh I I strongly expect that the the Zach Butters storyline uh will be a replacement of the Matt Row one for next year, th that the in that it's going to be the talking point of the whole year.
