So your on-ramp needs to be clear, needs to be nothing on that ramp so that you could just get into that hyper-focus stage.
And I would protect those first five, 10 minutes like they are gold.
That means put your phone away, turn off notifications, put it upside down, whatever, put it in a different room, shut the door, lock it in case your family members are coming in, it's okay to do that, or they will bang.
they will bang on the door.
But anyways, once you're in hyperfocus, I don't have to tell you, it's hard to break it off, right?
It's hard to stop that hyperfocus.
So the key is to clear the ramp so you can dive in, get into it before anything takes your attention.
Now, that said,
I'm not saying clear everything for hours and hours.
I am actually not a fan of being in hyperfocus for multiple hours.
I think that's not healthy.
If you want to do focused work, it doesn't even have to be for a long time.
It could be 25 minutes, half hour.
The longest I personally do is about an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half.
I don't even usually do not even two hours because I find after an hour and a half, if I haven't moved, I really, I need to get up.
I need to move my body.
I need to make sure I'm drinking.
I need to use the restroom, whatever it is.
I really try for definitely no longer than that one and a half hour mark, but it depends on how I'm feeling.
It could be 25 minutes, like I said.
