The surprising part about abortion, the surprising part about adoption is that the more willing and able you are to adopt, the greater your chances are gonna be that you are restricted from biological procreation by our principles of procreative permissibility.
And that's because if let's say you have a you know, um
a problem, you know, some kind of genetic mismatch with your with your partner and any child you might have has a risk of having a serious disability but not something, you know, unlivable with.
Well, if you can adopt easily instead, then the cost to you of not having that biological child is not that steep.
But if you cannot biologi if you not cannot proc uh adopt instead, let's say you wouldn't, you know, this it's too difficult or you don't have the money or whatever else.
then the cost to you of not procreating would be steeper and so your procreative permissi permissibility would increase a little bit, um, which might be surprising but actually seems fair.
Yes, there's something horribly terrible about it.
So yes, it's bad, very bad.
Because you're doing th you're it's it's like, you know, just you know, oh I'd like to take a drive down, you know, here's a nice car, let me just get in and drive along.
No, I never took a license.
No, I don't have a license.
No, I didn't think about any risks, but you know, why not?
Because driving is so wonderful and life is great.
Um, it's a very weighty thing.
I I don't know why people give it so little thought.
I think um
It it just seems like the next step in life where they just really want to, or they just think, you know, life is great.
But it not only it it it's um
You know, it's not a gift.
