And it's difficult, I suppose, because everyone walks into those wanting to put their best foot forward, but they're nervous.
Like, as they walk in there, and I mean, is anyone ever at their best self when they're nervous?
Like, so...
I mean, put it in the basketball context, Dom, obviously you get a lot of resumes that come through and kind of this time of year, everyone's your best mate.
And it's like, hey, you know, I wouldn't mind this job over here.
What can this look like?
How do you put that in context as well, where you also have the lens of, well, when you're interviewing for, say, state team positions, winning plays a part in that as well.
Yeah, and that's something I think as coaches we probably don't get right.
We're so used to just telling people what to do that we don't always think about, have I explained that well?
And it's something that actually as coaches we should be quite good at because we have to go into the weeds sometimes.
Like, hey, outside foot, heel down, then toes down, then opposite foot, like those sorts of things.
We can unpack that, but we can be a bit flippant with it.
I mean, very rarely would anyone come out of an interview –
with the I just nailed that and I don't think I could answer anything better like there's always something as you go out of it so like Don how would you prepare for an interview in the first instance to make sure that you are hitting on the right things that you want to hit on in that yeah absolutely um
So what's an example, I suppose, of a good question to ask?
Just so that you're not, like I'll put it in the work context of, hey, so what's it pay?
Like that's one straight off the bat, like that people are going to ask, obviously.
But are there better questions than others, I suppose, in that space?
And in a coaching role, it's like, well, you'll be paying us.
