So without me talking and rambling on for too much longer, we'll jump straight into Matt and then we'll go from Matt straight to Naya.

Hey coaches, thanks very much for jumping back in.

We are joined by Matt Cameron from Vic Health today talking about the Set the Standard program.

So Matt, thank you very much for for jumping in and Sean, thank you very much for setting this up as well.

Uh Matt, can you give us a little bit of an overview on what the Set the Standard campaign is for those that may not be aware of it so far?

Yeah, and that's I suppose the challenge I think for a lot of people.

Like basketball I feel like is a fairly diverse sport.

Like we have a lot of people from different cultures, different backgrounds, different beliefs playing.

But it could always be more.

And that's the the scary part is how much bigger could this grow if we can almost encourage everyone and engage everyone and get everyone involved in the same direction.

And and that creating cultural safety is a really interesting part of it.

I think that probably like I I date back myself to doing thirty something years of coaching now.

This was not something I considered when I first started.

And to be fair, I was a very naive fourteen year old when I first started, so I had no clue about anything, let alone cultural safety.

What does it look like?

And how do you know when you've got it, I suppose, at your club?

Yeah, it's it's a really alarming statistic, I suppose, that over fifty six percent of people have experienced or witnessed uh racism in community sport.

And this is like the lifeblood of it feels like Australian values is community sport.
