The one that really grossed me out the most was the raping and torturing of Jewish women.
Once I saw that, I was like, yeah, this person definitely is a mental case.
But does that make him a serial killer?
Does that make him somebody that commits homicides?
You know, he just did some disgusting internet searches, but we still had to do more investigative steps and try to look a little bit more into him.
And, you know, we were kind of
having challenges amongst each other and challenging, is it time that we should surveil him closer?
Should we follow him back and forth to work?
And we were kind of concerned about it because the last thing we wanted to have happen is Rick Sherman know that we were on to him because once he might have
realized we were onto him, a lot of different things could have gone wrong.
And we had to do it very discreet.
We had to make sure that a lot of people did not know we were onto somebody.
Listen, this case was something that rocked the Suffolk County world and the media was so intrigued by this case.

Very, very low key and discreet regarding investigative steps to make sure that anybody in the media or the public didn't get any information, especially Rex Sherman.
Well, I will say this, that I think he thinks that he did get away with it.
I mean, after 10 years and nothing in the media,
being shared that you know we're on to something or we're we're looking only media coverage that was there were two media pushes that kind of could have kind of raised up like sharing one my predecessor sharing the initials of the belt and the other one was hey we're going to rejuvenate the investigation into the gilgo beach case and those are the only two things
Was he now worried all of a sudden that, you know, we're rejuvenating the case?
Or was he in a place where he's like, oh, these guys will never catch me?
