uh that remain elevated and w with all these news around refineries in Russia and Saudi Arabia, maybe placed to the view that um those prices are gonna take a little bit longer to come down.
Yeah, well I mean the the story of China and and some have been sort of claiming that China was enjoying a reflationary dynamic and with the domestic side um you know driving that that uptick and uh whilst others including myself were saying well no this is all just part of the increasing energy prices from the Middle East.
Um and now we've seen a reversal of that as prices have come up
The highs, we've seen a decline in China's um inflation.
Um and and the interesting thing in that regard is that when you look at the details, it's just it just speaks of weak, weak domestic demand.
And um and it's highlighting yet what we all seem to know that there's a sort of a two sort of uh dynamics going on in China.
I like it.
One where the industrial side is performing uh with overcapacity but looking to expand.
expand to the external side of the economy.
Um and then any any sort of drivers of imports are related to sort of the AI sort of revolution while the domestic, you know, ho households are are not really contributing at all.
And and that's keeping um wages and and sort of inflationary pressures very, very subdued.
Yeah, exactly.
Um and further decline in terms of any investment in the housing market as well.
Yeah, um it's interesting.
I mean we've we've also written about that and I mean the the first point to make it um is when you think about this, obviously the scenario is that um now you have two central banks trying to defend the yen rather than one and one of them happens to be the biggest central bank.
So if you want to have a crack at at you know it's a it's a bigger it's it's a bigger deal to h to have a crack at trying to test
to the two central banks in addition to the fact that now we also know that um the Americans have opened those swap lines which effectively means that you you got more firepower.
So um but for from fundamental perspective I think the big question and for the market is um what is happening with the fiscal side uh story with Japan uh they they're planning to have a an expansion
expansionary policy and how they're gonna fund it.
So that's obviously the big question.
