And, you know, and what kind of defenses do I need to marshal to be ready for that?
So you want all of them talking and the skin microbiome definitely changes depending on how much sun exposure you get.
Like certain species love to be in the sun and are also really good at defending against the sun.
And there's some evidence, there was a study in Israel a few years ago where lifeguards at the end of the season
had much higher populations of certain skin microbes that love sun and help to protect against it.
They sort of absorb some of those free radicals.
So does sunscreen screw that up?
I haven't seen studies on that specific question, but it would certainly make sense if they did because...
You know, sunscreens are chemical intensive, so they're definitely going to change.
They clearly change the way your skin responds to light.
Well, so this is a huge question about science in general is where's the funding coming from?
And it becomes a bit of a self-fulfilling process where you have to pretty much any scientist has to apply to one of these like several large entities that fund most research.
You know, so you're sending your proposal in and if they don't like it, they're not going to fund your proposal.
They're not going to fund it.
And then there's a huge publication bias.
So the process of science probably needs to be revamped, which is probably beyond what you and I can accomplish.
That's beyond this conversation.
But what we hear about coming down through that pipeline tends to reinforce whatever the old...
