So it's really, really fundamental in the way everything works in the body.
They m proteins must fold.
or they won't function.
And if they misfold or they fold incorrectly.
And that's your was your next your next launch pad there was with oxidative stress.
And that's how you would get a misfolded protein.
or an unfolded protein that it just collapses because it's been damaged by oxidative stress.
But we can talk about oxidative stress later.
Those misfolded proteins are a liability and you'll hear of them coming up with neurodegenerative diseases like for example Alzheimer's.
And so they're implicated in any of that neurodegeneration because the last thing you need are misfolded proteins in the brain.
And they can be plaques and tangles and things.
And so that's just one of the sort of the downsides of it.
But the body in general is always folding and proteins are folding and unfolding.
And this is a constant dynamic process that is happening on the scale of trillions.
All the time.
And that's what builds us and makes us human.
So hopefully that's made sense to kind of get from the amino acid
all the way to a folded protein that we need.
Oh well there's a piece missing though.
that it's not magic for the protein to just go from one shape to the other.
