Well, as you know, he's got unbelievable bat to ball skills.
He's making contact.
He's from the time he's stepped into the uh major leagues.
I mean, he's just um he knows how to get hit get hits.
He's got tremendous um
Plate presence.
Um, I liken him a little bit to Juan Soto as far as his overall approach, not the same power, obviously.
But as far as making contact, understanding the strike zone, working pitches, never swings and misses.
In fact, he's yet to swing and miss as a Philly in the what three games he's played.
Uh, but he brings sort of a uh an element to that lineup that they do not have.
which is someone who makes consistent contact, uh, puts the ball in play, puts pressure on the pitcher, um, does a lot of different things that um that really is complementary to the lineup that doesn't do it all that much and
Um pretty strong ac acquisition for the Phillies.
I'll tell you why, it's because the analytics folks decided that the home run was way more important than the base hit.
And uh the reality of it is I'm not sure about twenty, fifteen, twenty years ago.
Um
I mean, there were role players.
There were guys who got on base.
There were guys who drove runs in.
There were guys who moved runners.
That doesn't exist anymore.
