However, what we've seen across the year in speaking to both consumers and retailers is that the cost of living crisis is there.
So people are feeling the pinch and we've seen inflation rise to 2.9%.
So they are looking for better deals.
What I think is interesting in this stat is if you look at what the consumers who plan to spend more, is they're spending more on Black Friday because they're trying to cut down on their Christmas spend.
Absolutely.
So we can see that the omni-channel experience is really important to the Irish consumer.
And I know for a fact the retailers can see that as well.
35% of Irish consumers will still go into a store across the Black Friday weekend.
Exactly.
But the majority, 64%, are choosing an online method.
So 46% will choose online with home delivery versus 14% that will choose online with a click and collect option.
What's really important for retailers out there is to meet the customer where the customer is and to offer that omni-channel experience.
That's true, Emmett.
And it's one of the things that has come across very clearly from consumers in our survey is that they become very frustrated with out of stocks.
And for the retailers who operate in store, they do not like queues in stores.
And also the third frustration there is, again, they're unconfident in terms of the value that they're getting.
So if there's one message there for retailers is that they need to offer more.
They need to be price competitive.
They need to offer a seamless in-store and online experience.
And they also need to be very clear on the communication when it comes to out of stocks.
