So it'll be interesting again to see how Vancouver uses him this year.

Will he get four

Four to five more minutes of ice time.

Will he be well above water in those extra four minutes?

I don't necessarily think he has it in him.

The hit rate is certainly impressive.

The face-off percentage is impressive, but we just need to see more from Atu Ratu.

He needs to just do more in general.

He needs to shoot more, he needs to block way more and be more involved in the game than just on the faceoffs and just on the four check.

I'm thinking of him at the kind of peak of his projection at like a

Callie Yarncroak in his glory days or like a Pontus Holmberg if he hits his ceiling.

Uh, but certainly not someone that has the kind of cache of a Jordan Stahl or an Andrew Cobb, some of these kind of more elite, rugged, um, you know, three C options that are kind of captain material as well.

Yeah, you're talking about the minutes going down, and I think in no player is that more certain that they're going to play less this year than they ever had is Alex Ovechkin.

And I think Ilya Protos's um kind of role in the lineup is as Ovechkin insurance.

Um certainly Protoss's size and skill profile will go a long way to keeping him in the NHL, but I I think we're gonna be seeing a situation this year for Ovechkin where

He's not gonna play every night.

He's gonna take some nights off.

Maybe he only you know, I've seen some extreme um, you know, projections for people that he'll only play home games, maybe he won't go on the road.

That doesn't typically happen.

in the NHL, but if there's any player who I could see making it happen the first time, it would be Alex Ovechkin, who is certainly uh longer in the tooth than you might want.
