whether it's quarterback play, hosting a podcast, you could do this literally with everything is you find people that you really admire the way they do it.

And then initially nobody's really paying attention initially anyway.

Um, so who cares?

You're going to imitate them sometimes copying them verbatim.

And then as you get the repetitions, um,

you're going to find your own voice and it's going to become more and more you.

Again, you know this because at the beginning of your podcast, probably if you listen back to some of them, I know if you listen to my early days, it is insanely embarrassing, very cringe to listen to my early episodes.

I was copying others.

I was trying to figure it out.

It sounds bad.

Occasionally though, there's like a good moment, but for the most part, it's pretty cringe.

But as you go,

you know, you find your own voice, you figure it out, you get better and better and better and better.

And so I think, again, the key, though, is you got to get started, even if when you get started, you're going to copy somebody else, that's okay.

Eventually, though, then you find your own voice and do it that way.

But I think this, this imitate and innovate can help people get started, then the key is to keep going and find finding your own voice.

Again, with all the leaders I work with, one of the questions I ask is like, what is your writing practice?

And I'm surprised that frequently it doesn't exist.

And so why I push hard every leader to create a writing practice is because you don't fully know what you believe or what you think until you get those thoughts out of your head onto the page.

Now, you can choose to publish them so all others can read or not.
