if you don't write it down or take that note in your phone or whatever your version of your notebook is, it's so easy to forget.

How many times do you say, oh, I had that one thing, and you can't remember what it was, and sometimes it never comes back.

And so I think always being willing to have some sort of a journal that you're documenting your thoughts.

I mean, this whole book was written from years and years of that.

I mean, I'm pulling from that kind of daily –

journal that was a combination of handwritten notes, stuff on my phone, emails I send to myself sometimes if I don't have a better place to put it, or if I just need like a new way to document my thinking.

But certainly I think it is a commonality among those who are sustaining excellence is they are really good at documenting their days, at documenting key learnings or aha moments or big ideas.

They're writing them down

And then having a way of organizing those thoughts, whether that's going to they're going to write a book or give a speech or mentor somebody else, whatever it may be.

They're good at documenting the days as well as then sharing them with others, hopefully so that it's helpful for them.

Yeah.

I mean, um, it's funny, like I, I teach and we work in leadership and I'm certainly like really into leadership.

I love leadership.

Um, but, but also like one of my favorite guys right now is Austin Cleon and he's not, he would tell you he's not a leadership guy.

He's, he's an artist.

And so I'm studying like the power of being creative of type, his typewriter interviews and

of learning from people who do cartoons.

These aren't leaders or salespeople.

These are creative people.

And I'm trying to think of like what ideas I can draw from them to like open up new places in my brain then help me create better ideas when I'm working with leaders and trying to help them
