U2 classmate Patricia Quinn, who went on to become the director of the Arts Council of Ireland, remembers parents writing in to object.
As much as he inspired the culture of Mount Temple, his liberal, outward-looking influence wasn't felt by many of the students.

And it wasn't only that music was compulsory for all first years, but that in Albert Bradshaw, the students had a music teacher in a million.
Albert had a Department of Education grant to study the application of the Kodai method, where reading and writing music is taught in a more engaging way.
His research was about transforming the music curriculum.
