You know, what I think is really great about the book, because you said it there, it's really about friendship.

And I mean, this is a friendship over a long time, but these people have been separated.

Now, you two have been friends from a young age.

But what I think about your friendship is it's quite it's that college friendship that's quite intense where you're spending an awful lot of time together a lot of time.

And I think Laura and Dee have that similar friendship.

It's a college friendship.

It's like hanging out in each other's houses all the time.

But you've had this two decades of friendship, right?

And these girls, because of what happens in Long Island and the body and all of that, the dead body, they make a decision to not stay in contact for whatever reason.

And I was wondering, like, is it kind of, were you imagining what it would be like if you'd had this really good friendship, then you never saw each other again and came back?

Were you kind of thinking about that?

straight to old times back to the old jokes back to you know and they have a very valid reason for deciding and it really is to kind of protect each other that they decide to go their separate ways but it's heartbreaking from that perspective because they have this intense love for each other this bond and they have to because it's the safest thing to do they have to separate

Yeah, and because of what happens... It's not like they fell out, is what I'm saying.

But they can't talk with them.

So it also makes me think about friendships ending for various different reasons.

And it's a really interesting thing because we talk a lot about romantic breakups, but platonic breakups can be just as devastating.

Have either of you experienced that?

And what about going back to the noughties and writing about that?
