Like the ability to course correct, that is the single most important human trait because life is going to throw different chaos at you, different storms.
And the person who wins is the person who can tolerate whatever punches life throws at them and actually just adapt and change course in whatever minor or major ways that you need to along the way.
It is like adaptability is the highest form of intelligence in many ways.
This is from my grandfather.
He was a big believer in gut instinct.
And I think now the science is more and more clear that gut instinct actually has a real scientific basis, something in your gut that you are feeling.
I have made so many bad decisions, especially in business, when I had the clear gut instinct that this didn't make sense, and then I talked myself into it on some surface-level financial basis.
it almost is never the case that those things work out.
So, if your gut is bad, whether it's on the people that you're doing it with, or the opportunity, or the size of it, just trust your gut.
It's earned intuition.
And this is overriding this –
thing that you're taught your whole childhood, which is the most important thing is to fit in and just have your place.
You're like, oh, I just want to be liked.
I just want to be popular.
And it may be a good thing when you're in school, but it becomes a really bad thing in real life.
Because if you're constantly changing who you are and showing up in different ways to try to impress other people or try to get them to like you or think you're cool, you're just going to attract relationships into your life that you have to constantly manage, like constant drama and chaos and volatility.
And I think just as we all get older, there's nothing more valuable than stable, reliable people in your life, like boring relationships, people who just show up the way
that you know they will always show up consistently over and over again.
And that comes from you being authentic to who you actually are.
I think it will be highly, highly disruptive and damaging to a lot of particularly white collar workers.
