Why aren't you doing this?
Whatever.
It's all over me.
And it's from a place of love, and I know that, but it feels that way, versus my dad, who's just very stoic and laid back and just relaxed, whatever.
And what we've had to do is build an adult relationship in a way that didn't exist from our whole childhood.
It's sort of like this idea that
Not all relationships need to end.
Some relationships need to just start over.
Just because you have a relationship with someone that isn't perfect in the current day and age doesn't mean you need to cut ties with the person.
It might just be that you need a reset button on that relationship to say, hey, mom, I'm not 14 years old anymore.
I don't live in your house.
I'm a grown man.
You don't need to worry about me in all these ways.
Let's have an adult relationship.
What are the things that we can talk about that are just...
adult things relative to how you want to interact with me because in her mind I'm still that 14 year old kid living at home that needs that micromanaging in order to like actually show up to school on time yeah yeah moms moms have that all moms but Indian moms are probably more so so what tell me a little bit about the arrival fallacy that plagues all of us
So everyone has experienced this.
No matter who you are listening to this, I know you have.
If you are someone who is ambitious, you have had this tendency your whole life to build up these things as being the destination, the point at which you are going to feel like you have arrived.
whatever the goal is at any point in time.
