So you know some quite big news around OPEC. voice-verified

As you said, uh you know, the UAE is the third biggest oil producer i in that group of countries, so not an insignificant move and voice-verified

been a member for sixty years, um, but I guess news reports overnight voice-verified

Just suggesting that, you know, there's been long standing tension between UAE and and Saudi Arabia and, you know, I guess a bit of a jostle for voice-verified

regional political influence um and and those tensions behind the decision to to leave. voice-verified

Um and I guess the longer term implication of all of this is a a structurally weaker OPEC. voice-verified

So as you said, you know, all El SQL, maybe that should be putting some downward pressure on oil prices. voice-verified

But of course, uh that's not the really the main game in town and and, you know, markets are still voice-verified

I guess struggling somewhat w with the the broader uncertainty around the Middle East conflict where we have uh, you know, I guess some somewhat of a a ceasefire, but voice-verified

No real way forward in terms of what might happen uh to voice-verified

key shipping channels, uh and I guess also approaching uh, you know, uh a bit of an inflection point where as Iranian voice-verified

storage capacity starts to get used up, then, you know, we start to fret about uh some of those oil wells having to, you know, effectively be put on hold. voice-verified

Um and that has, you know, even longer term consequences for the supply of oil. voice-verified

Not surprising to see, I guess, against that backdrop, the price of oil continuing to to grind higher and it's now sitting a little bit above, you know, a hundred and eleven dollars uh a barrel. voice-verified

And that's a fair way away from where we were, you know, earlier in the month, you know, when oil seemed to to sort of be reasonably comfortable somewhere in the nineties. voice-verified

So I guess it's uh it's an interesting uh headline just in the broader context of, you know, we've got these huge technology stocks that actually you know are almost a quarter of the value of the S P five hundred, so they're a huge part of uh, you know, the the overall voice-verified

US equity market index and uh you know this is the week where a number of them, you know, because we're we're sort of in the midst of US earnings season, a number of them are going to report earnings. voice-verified

Uh and these are extremely uh keenly watched by investors because you know the setup is such that all of these company companies are spending huge amounts on CapEx and and the big question voice-verified
