The first one was I basically said, you know, it can be really hard thinking about the optimal policy response to an energy price shock because you you're matched

sort of got inflation moving up, growth moving down. matched

But both of them said the starting point really matters. matched

Um and I think that's quite instructive when we think about Australia where, you know, the starting point is an economy growing above trend, a labour market that's basically at or close to full employment. matched

And Sarah Hunter was saying, you know, if you start from that point um then you start to worry that some of those second round price impacts actually get passed on a little bit faster. matched

So I thought that was interesting. matched

And then they both talked a lot about the importance of inflation expectations and just how important it is in an episode like this to to really keep those inflation expectations anchored. matched

And I thought that was interesting as well because we know that's been I think a a source of some anxiety for for the RBA just in the last couple of months. matched

You know, that the measures that we look at here in Australia of consumer inflation matched

Expectations were moving higher even before the oil price, you know, jumped. matched

Um and so I suspect there might be a little bit of nervousness around that. matched

So, you know, I I would take those comments and say it's interesting that they both said similar things. matched

They do sort of lean hawkish, but you know, maybe just to remember it is hard to get the broader context for those comments given that you know we've only got one side of the conversation. matched

Uh, you know, we get some retail sales numbers in the US later this uh later this week. matched

And then I guess we also have the hearing for a Fed chair nominee, Kevin Walsh, uh taking place this week. matched

So I guess there'll be some interest in in how he how he presents and what he says. matched

Um but it's increasingly looking like I think that, you know, maybe Chair Powell might be in place for a little bit longer than um you know, at least he matched
