We just did a great thing on Tuesday at the ballot box.
Now we did it with rallies over the last few months as well with our feet.
Now what we need to be doing at work is challenging our direct leadership and our direct management by asking for more.
And I think that is a place that everybody can start.
Yeah.
So I think with platforms like Workday and there's a number of other, you know, if you work at a company that you think any whatever software is being used to pay you, you know, your payroll platform, manage your schedule.
Here's a few.
You know, the first thing you can do is make sure you're not oversharing with those products.
So one of the things I talk about in the book is employee surveys.
So talk about the one thing that we shouldn't ever do.
We should never, ever, ever, as an employee, do an employee survey about ourselves.
And this is what companies are doing more and more today.
They send out one-on-one surveying to evaluate your work experience, evaluate how you're feeling about your current role in employment.
That data is being used in many ways against the worker to command, control, and make leadership, hiring, firing, termination decisions.
It's no different than why I don't believe you should ever rate an Uber driver.
I don't think you should ever put any type of Google review out there on a restaurant.
When you review third-party platforms in that way, being critical, what you are doing is you are replacing the need for the company to self-manage and develop
and care about their people.
And again, it kills me every time I see a restaurant that works really hard with a ton of frontline workers that are, again, not working 20 hours a week, but 30, 40, 50, 60, and to have a one-star review because somebody had too much, they didn't like the way the pasta tasted today.
it creates an environment where the consumer, where companies are offloading management to consumers, and they're not paying us to review the companies.
