So will Xpeng's cars have what is the equivalent of Tesla full self-driving in 2027 in Australia?

Well, for one, the models they've already announced are not capable of it.

I mean, the new car that they've just decided to sell in Australia, the new Xpeng G6, does not have the requisite chips to support VLA 2.0.

So if it's based on those cars, the answer is no.

If it's based on some new cars that have different specifications, well, it is then possible.

Is though XPeng right to write off BYD?

Well, only partly.

And this is where I'd push back on them.

BYD is not sitting still.

They are spending insane amounts of money.

God's Eye is being rolled out across the entire BYD lineup.

That said, God's Eye is not the future for full self-driving.

But their A3, their new chip, is a four nanometer driving chip capable of supporting level three and level four driving.

They say it is anyway.

I don't know if this is true.

That's what they say.

That's arguably, though, the widest deployment of autonomy hardware by any carmaker on the planet.

But hardware and software are two completely different things.

In June, BWD publicly confirmed it is developing humanoid robots and floated selling household robots through its dealer network.
