I don't think that's the right option for you.
You've obviously got an interest.
So if there's interest for someone to invest, why stop investing?
Yes, a number of countries can sit there and say, well, maybe the after-tax return is better, risk-free rate of return is better if you put it into an offset account.
But if that just feels a little bit too boring and doesn't interest you and you're going to get a bit of enjoyment out of investing for the long term, getting into diversified ETFs and maybe a couple of thematics, then do that as well.
Yeah, and if that costs you a few basis points of investment return over the next decade or so, it doesn't really matter.
You're doing the right things.
You're taking the right steps now.
And it's just about finding that balance of what feels comfortable, what do you still find interesting, and how do you just keep those two in check.
Absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely.
You see clients who, for whatever reason, they've stopped investing or lifestyle creep happens and they say, I can't afford to invest anymore because they've got kids or whatever the metric or the circumstance, expenses have gone up and they say, look, I just can't afford to do this anymore.
And then invariably, five years down the track,
They always look back and say, gee, I wish I spent a little bit less or I wish I just kept up with even a reduced amount putting into either an offset account or into investments.
I wish I just did a little bit and I was a little bit more disciplined.
Yeah, absolutely.
You've got to start somewhere.
You know, the wealthiest people in the world started with, you know, some started with nothing, some started with something, but some started with nothing.
