You know, so they, they already had a strong leadership core there.

um yeah like what i what i don't think is true is that like so sorry go back a bit what i think is what is a good coach is someone that um gets the best out of their players by whatever method that is so that might be like just showing them um their strength through data for instance or creating the environment where they feel uh that they can be the best out of themselves rather than

sorry, get the best out of themselves rather than like, I tell you what's good being like me because I was a good player.

And like, I just do not think that that is, that's ever worked.

I suppose every circumstance in history seems to be unique, just into my own mind, just thinking the last, let's say, 20 years.

Because, I mean, cricket coaches only really came in in the 80s, right?

I think.

But I think to that end, when you look at football managers, just to stick with the Premier League example...

Think about Alex Ferguson, Jurgen Klopp, Arsene Wenger, Mourinho to a lesser extent.

But these guys, they were such enormous personalities within the organization.

The organization should be built around them.

Now, all three of those had great success.

Now, I've never seen – I don't think I've seen a cricket coach –

like hand in fist with the captain as well for the entire thing to be revolved around two guys or the coach, for instance, maybe that's a little bit harsh on McCollum there to just single him out.

But, but the thing is that like, I think they were so starved of success.

That was so starved of success that like, there's this perception in England that it was successful because they beat South Africa at home and they beat Pakistan away.

You know, the, the,

And measuring that against where they'd come from at that time left people frothing.

Maybe we're spoilt in Australia because maybe in a couple of years' time when this side moves on, I think there's going to be some tough times and maybe we will be yearning for an away Pakistan win and maybe beating South Africa at home.
