And the power of that little bit of community that they get, those pats on the backs, those hugs, those handshakes, that sense of belonging that they have once a week, it's huge.
And even if it's just a round of check-ins and everyone's got nothing bad to say and they're all having a good week, it's still โ
So beautiful to be part of, so powerful and so needed.
And the other thing that I always notice is that the people that are running these groups, bro, they got no funding to do so.
Like when I started the page in 2022 and did my first walk,
It was for me, bro, you know, and I remember one of my first posts, we did some tiles and one of them, I said how many steps, it was going to be like three million steps or whatever, blah, blah, blah.
And I said, if I can inspire one person or one man to take that first step and reach out for help, then this has been a success.
And by the time I got to the top of the country, the amount of people that have reached out, the amount of it, and I was just like, holy shit, like,
I'm not going to stop this.
I was seeing a purpose for me.
I was seeing a positive spin on something that was horrific that happened to me in my life.
I was seeing a way I could turn that into purpose.
So we went from Bluff to Cape Reanga.
