Um, did research for a number of years, but I had three kids while I was a graduate student and

Didn't want to spend the kind of time it would take to be a professor, which had been the original goal.

So we have three children.

And they're all married and they all live in the DC area.

And two of them have kids, and we love our grandkids to pieces.

Um so we moved out here.

Um, to spend more time with them and be a real part of their lives.

Um, I was okay.

So I was doing research for a number of years and then I thought, what do I really want to do when I grow up?

And I

Started teaching high school and I taught I some really smart kids I got to teach in the local high school.

I taught AP biology and advanced biology and regular biology.

Got to work with really amazing kids, coached Science Olympiad and academic league.

So I got to see some of these kids grow from freshmen up to seniors when they're really

coming into their own and that was just delightful.

I feel like that was a very valuable thing to do.

So yeah, I was Doctor Man and to my science Olympia students because he coached some science olympiad events and he was Mr.

Doctor Man.
