Because when there's been a betrayal, even with a friendship or in a family relationship,
we've got to get to the core reason.
And it's not always something really basic and simple, but it's, I mean, people usually lie or do things based on fear or based on unhappiness about something or trying to protect something.
So we need to drill down to what was the reason the betrayal happened and
And what was, if not always, but if there was some type of contribution from me in the dynamic that also sort of helped create the environment in which the betrayal then happened, looking at my part in it, sometimes you don't have a part in it and that's fine in different situations, but often in couples, there will be some sort of
co-creation.
People can get a bit funny about hearing that.
What do you mean I got cheated on?
How is that my fault?
Not your fault.
Their behavior is on them to be accountable for.
But we can look at, was I really present in the relationship?
you know, how did I show up for my partner?
Was there ever any kind of like red flag things that I just turned a blind eye to?
You know, was I not really wanting to see certain things?
And that's not always the case, but sometimes there is a part that people, you know, through therapy, you can see the person who's been betrayed, get to a point where they're like, okay, I can see
