So it's probably osteoarthritis.
It's kind of an inevitable part of aging.
Um not everyone is lucky enough to get to that at sixteen, but um there's loads that can be done for osteoarthritis.
Um it can be that because there's pain with the movement, even though they're willing to move their colleagues, they're going to want to move.
Um
th they become weaker, the muscles atrophy, they become weaker with age.
So getting them on a good pain regimen and then things like water um is brilliant.
So if you're near a body of water that they can paddle in, it's brilliant for them to strengthen those muscles so that there's more So they get
have more stamina then.
Um but if you're not near water, there's lots of hydrotherapy units around the country as well, and they'll be able to do kind of a focus training to help strengthen those muscles in the back end.
Absolutely, yes.
I think our dogs and even cats, they tend to just err on the side of happy.
So it's very easy for us to maybe be a little bit suspicious, but become sidetracked because they still want to go on their walk or they still eat their dinner and they greet you with enthusiasm.
So they can mislead us a little bit because it's very difficult to recognise those signs of pain.
They can be really subtle.
Absolutely.
And particularly working breed dogs.
I remember I had a Springer Spaniel in once with a broken leg and he walked in on all four legs.
He didn't hold it up.
Yeah, they can be really, really brave.
