And the other networks, NBC, Fox News, you know, in this act of solidarity, they said they're not going to step in and fill that gap.
And so, yep, the effect has been pretty immediate.
Yes, and I mean, look, I don't think it's Fox abandoning its sort of editorial leaning here, but it is an important boundary that they're drawing around, you know, essentially joining forces with the other broadcasters who've said very clearly that they are not prepared to accept the government deciding what the press reports or publishes.
And, you know, in a statement, actually in a joint statement, CNN and the other organizations said that Left Unchallenged, it threatens press freedom and the public's right to independent journalism.
And David, just one other point is actually the First Amendment rights that are now going to be tested in court over this fight that President Trump has launched.
It's described often as like the beating heart of the American Constitution.
It is so important to many Americans, not because a free press is the right thing, but because allowing those in power to decide who's allowed to speak and what voice is banished or not is what the First Amendment is designed to prevent.
And so it's something that goes far beyond just a media spat with President Trump.
No, and there's a little bit of confusion here in DC, I think, amongst the media as to what exactly prompted this sudden significant action from the president and with those specific outlets.
We don't know at the moment.
We just know that he has done it.
We know that the correspondents and many of the reporters for those organizations have physically had their press passes revoked, so they can no longer
enter the White House.
They can't be part of those briefings.
They can't be part of those conversations.
And critically, they can't, you know, speak truth to power.
They can't question the president.
They can't ask him for clarifications.
And so that's where you get this sort of wider argument now.
This is going to be a hearing.
