is scheduled for Wednesday, and it's actually before a judge that was a Trump appointee, but Trump's now criticised him because President Trump himself admits that he's quite likely, with the sort of legal precedent, to probably lose the legal challenge over this.
But again, you know, it really comes back to, there's a really beautiful description of the American sort of liberty.
In a 1943 Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson report,
wrote that if there's one fixed star in the constitutional constellation, it's that no public official, high or petty, may dictate what Americans think with politics, nationalists, religion or any other matter of opinion.
And so, yeah, it's something that, you know, it does go far beyond the sort of immediate press argument here.
Yes, and I mean, I think the legal action that's been scheduled, what the hearing, the outlets are calling for basically is an emergency stop to this while it's being discussed.
So possibly you're going to see a very, very quick reversal of this
and those journalists and those outlets granted access.
You know, President Trump, you know, not surprisingly, has doubled down on this and actually threatened that perhaps there'll be even more broadcasters and media that will be caught up in this temporary ban.
Yes, you've got this Trump TV, if you like, that's being launched.
But as we said, you know, the sort of
the scenes in the white house the the technical the technical you know realities of of getting you know good solid coverage and picture quality and sound quality uh shout out to your sound guys by the way um you know it's it's an art and uh they've you know they've seen pretty immediately when you withdraw that access for some and when the other media organizations stand in solidarity they just simply get unusable um audio so um yeah trump's going to be feeling the effects
Well, I'd be lying if I said I could give you a genuine and clear verified account of what the president is going to do.
I don't think anyone can sort of guarantee that.
Look, obviously, there is going to be huge discussion over the conflict in Iran, possibly what is happening with Saudi Arabia and the Houthis.
Russia, Ukraine, and the president has already started tying what's happening here domestically with the huge spike in the price of diesel to...
the the conflict with russia and ukraine um i think there's a bit of a question mark actually when that comes up and if it comes up in what context whether the american pressure that he's likely to exert with his words is going to land on kiev or on moscow obviously the hope will be that it's it's on moscow and and their continued um action in ukraine
But of course, you've got the international community now looking for further support for the American reassurance that they're going to be on board with what is needed to help Ukraine continue to combat Russia.
And so, you know, for the UK, this isn't a sort of international aid effort.
This is a matter of sort of forward defence and of holding off Russian aggression before it gets to NATO territory.
