No, it would just be reducing it basically.
So like if you, so for example, I've been on like half marathon and marathon plans where I might've had like 60K or 64K as my kind of peak week.
And then the following week in the deload, it's 30 something K. It kind of depends.
How much?
30K.
Yeah, so from like 60 down to 30.
He read about the taper and he misinterpreted the taper.
So he didn't run for two weeks before his marathon.
And then the night before we were all staying in a big house and he just turns to me and Tom and he's like, oh, by the way, taper.
So I haven't run for two weeks.
That's right, right?
And what can you say in that situation?
Because you can't be like, mate.
Good luck.
It's basically just easing down your mileage.
The best thing you can do is get a training plan, which will step it down for you based off knowing kind of all of the mileage that you've done or work with the coach.
But the best thing in the taper is that you are reducing down your mileage so that you're able to start on race day with fresh legs, but you're not reducing it down so much that you just feel sluggish and you can't get going.
So for lots of people, you might still have an interval session on the week of your race, whatever it might be.
You might have a tempo run or you might have an easy run, but you will have something like quite often I'll have a session that's like race pace practice case.
And that is literally, it's just really, really short.
