I feel like there's something eerie about reading something that is, you know, I think from everything we know, you know, from the contents of this book and from, you know, the media appearances that they've made and, you know, everything that I've been able to find, these are, you know, this seems to be just like a perfectly lovely, loving family who are very sincere about their religion and who, you know, seem to totally believe the story and have never recanted any of it.
And who also appear to be making like a pretty good living on it after all these years.
And that doesn't mean that that was their goal, but it did happen.
And it happened for a lot of other people who, you know, who published this book, who sold this book.
Um, it made a lot of money for a good number of people.
And
Is that good or bad?
I don't know.
One of the things that comes up in the book is that out this being America after Colton has this.
near death experience where, you know, it's everybody in the family goes through this incredible trauma of, you know, not knowing for days whether uh he's gonna make it and, you know, having a child who
Uh, you know, had such a serious health emergency that was misdiagnosed for such a long time and having feeling like the very near brush with death that comes from that, they then, you know, come home to realize that they need to find twenty three thousand dollars somewhere because of all the bills that they have and the work that they've missed.
You know, so that and that's not to accuse this book of having a financial motive, just to say that everyone in America has to have a financial motive most of the day or else yeah, you know, we're not gonna make it.
Especially after a health crisis.
