I don't feel like that's going to be a big influence because whoever they draft at number two, especially if it's a defenseman, probably isn't necessarily going to help them next year.

So I think that they are going to go about it, like they've said, sort of a best player available.

Now, if the best player available happens to be equal to them, Stenberg and let's say a Chase Reed, then maybe they will opt positionally there, right?

But I don't think they're going to do something where they're going to draft mostly or strictly for need.

Even if you draft a Stenberg there, that means that you have an extra forward now in your kind of forward excess that maybe you can deal for a defenseman.

And so it's not like just because you draft a forward there, you're kind of screwing yourself in the back end in the years to come.

Yeah, no, I think absolutely he still is in sort of my reckoning, my understanding.

I do think that they like Chase Reid too, but yeah, I definitely think that Stenberg can still be in the picture.

Of course, it's hard to say exactly what

the Sharks are thinking.

But yeah, I don't know if there's any decisions necessarily have been made in that area.

So I think it's fair to put Reed, Stenberg, and I think Carl's as still a distinct possibility as a number two for the Sharks.

Like you said, it is hard to move these picks.

That's why a top five pick hasn't moved since, I think, 2008, post-draft lottery, that is.

But, though, if you're the Sharks, though, yeah, I mean, I think ideally you would love a situation where

let's say a team really wants number two and you presume that they will draft Stenberg or you know that before you make the deal and maybe you know or you hear I know a lot of people think that the Canucks will go with Malhotra and so if you can somehow move back let's say to four and five and get the defensive end that you want and

maybe add some other assets, including the fence that I can help you right now, then that would be, I think, an ideal situation for the Sharks.

But like you said, tough to navigate.
