I think a lot of circumstances are here that make moving this pick more likely than expected.

I think one of them is that Stenberg, as great as he is, you know, I don't know if he's defined himself as a number two pick a la Jack Eichel or Evgeny Malkin, who is, you know, essentially a number one in a different year.

You know, that kind of number two, I think the Sharks probably just make that pick because he's clear and above, you know, better than the rest of the draft class.

And also to the Sharks where they are, you know, their positional need is

And, you know, the teams behind them, a team, especially a team like Chicago, that you can kind of see probably wants a forward, add a forward more than anything.

And they have a pretty good defensive depth, at least in terms of young, talented defensive depth.

And so there is kind of a suitable trade partner there, too.

And so, you know, maybe things are a little too perfect, and so it's still not going to happen.

But, yeah, like you said, yeah, it does make a lot of sense this year.

I think on the surface, yes.

But, you know, every time there's one of these sort of, you know, I go back to 2008, right, and there were four defensemen that

kind of uh people are were debating um that draft at the top of the draft after stamkos i think it was dowdy pedrangelo bogosian and um i'm blanking on shen right yeah so four guys right and so you know at the time you know no one was really sure who would be the the best defenseman of that bunch if he came out of that draft for one of those guys

I think you're pretty happy with it.

But obviously, you know, two of those four really define themselves and their careers as true number one defensemen.

And so I think in this case, I think the Sharks are just looking for the impact guy.

I mean, obviously, yeah, they need somebody on their power play, but look at their defense.

Honestly, they need help everywhere.

And so if Carlos is more of like the McAvoy type, right, he becomes like a McAvoy clone like some people kind of like him to.

I mean, the Sharks need that.
