What was that like?
Because I think that's a common theme we see with girls in the country now is they're kind of split between a number of sports.
Do you feel like that helps you in your footballing career going forward, just the different traits and I suppose attributes carrying over from sport to sport?
Yeah, and I think you said in an interview pre-World Cup, so this is going on three years at this stage, that if you ever were to move home at some stage, you'd love to go back and play with your home club.
Have you ever got a chance?
I know obviously you're still based in Liverpool with your new role, which we'll get onto, but have you got a chance since retiring to go back and to play at any stage?
That's OK.
And how's that been going for you?
Deadly, yeah.
And I know that the Galway women had a bit of success there recently, beating Mayo in the Connacht final.
Do you still follow the girls back at home?
Yeah, I suppose you mentioned your new role there with Liverpool as technical coordinator.
What's that transition been like since obviously retiring a few years ago to go on straight into this role?
Yeah, I was going to say, because I suppose when you're playing, you don't really see all that.
You might hear about different things on in the background, but I suppose you never get into the nitty gritty of how much work the staff, technical staff do put in in the background.
So what's that been like sort of realizing the whole new world that there is to football and run the club and recruitment and data and all that sort of stuff?
Yeah and I suppose one thing that has come into the game I think it's coming into the women's game a lot more is recruitment being database I know that like Premier League teams like Brighton and Brentford and I think Liverpool as well do a lot of sort of rely a lot on data and player metrics like you know conversion rates and XG and things like that is that something that Liverpool and yourself would use when maybe looking at like individual development pathways for players that are at the club and then maybe for recruitment pathways as well bringing players in
Not so much a hidden gem, but I suppose Denise O'Sullivan coming to Liverpool transformed that Liverpool changing room since January in the WSL and we've seen them grow in massive leaps and bounds since then.
How important was it to get her in obviously coming back from North Carolina Courage and into that changing room?
Yeah, and I think it's testament to her and, as you said, her character that Liverpool were in a dark enough place battling out with Leicester, I suppose, in that relegation battle.
