Like I l I as a as an individual, someone who cares about the financial future of Australians, I love that.
As a stock picker, I'm like, well, don't you want my s don't you want me to help you beat the market?
And some people say, Yeah, absolutely.
Others like, well I'll I'll take the average, thanks very much.
And that's cool too.
So a smaller market for stock picking and harder to outperform to the degree that was possible, not that I would necessarily would have done it, but possible ten, twenty, thirty, forty years ago, hundred years ago.
Um but it's not dead.
No, it's not dead because for it to be dead, everything has to be priced I'll say efficiently.
Efficiently is a horrible academic term as you know.
Everything's gonna be priced correctly.
Yeah.
And the likelihood that's true.
is so infinitesimally small that there should always be, I suspect, an opportunity.
And this is not me talking my book.
I might be out of a job because AI says my customers don't want me anymore.
But as an individual investor, can I still beat the market?
Yes, almost by definition, because averages are averages.
It's just kind of the mats of it, right?
But how big it is is the question.
So I don't think AI does it for us.
