He stands to have a big war lead at the end of the season.

He might already be the best defender in baseball, which is shocking because Bryce Terang, who plays his position for the Brewers in his division, has been one of, if not the best defender in baseball for a few years.

Weatherholt, same position, already maybe has overtaken Bryce Terang.

So as a result, even though Weatherholt has kind of comparable offensive stats, the guys like Carson Bench or other hitters in the NL,

his defensive quality is like boosting him up dramatically and war correlates even more strongly to rookie of the year than it does the MVP.

So Weatherholt, Parker Messick would be my choices if I'm placing rookie of the year bets right now.

Witt would be among the AO MVP, NL MVP, and then the Cy Young markets.

I think Witt would be the only guy I'd pull the trigger on.

there because i like joe ryan and the al but i think he's likely to get traded from the twins or at least likelier to get traded than end up still on his team um so yeah that's where i'd go with my money from a player futures perspective at this point and then the raise would be the team i would target from a team perspective uh zerillo we've gone an entire show

Like I said, I think that there's one team in the NL who can take them down.

It's probably the Brewers because the Brewers, by the time they got to the playoffs last year, Mizorowski wasn't available to start for them.

They didn't have the pitching quality, the starting pitching quality that they have this year.

But the Dodgers, to your point,

have not played their best team, and they still have the best record in baseball.

They have half of their playoff rotation on the IL.

Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell have given them virtually nothing this year.
