So I'm really against the idea of this sort of state-controlled housing system
which is brought to you by the super funds and the Labor Party and CBUS and all these people.
I favour more individual choice.

Well, I just think, you know, at the end of the day, all the Labor Party people, once they retire from parliament, their retirement house is an industry fund, super fund board, right?
And all the guys in parliament are all mates with the super fund people and the unions.
The unions get payments from the industry super funds.
They get director's fees, they get other cash payments, sponsorship payments, and they have a lot of economic and political clout.
And that's why they've been given 12% of everyone's salary and wages.
And I just think that it's not been a very good system for the country.
It doesn't get many people off the public pension.
It's created a huge distortion in that these funds now own huge amounts of the ASX and
They swing around their political power.
Now they want to be big corporate landlords.
I'm just against this sort of big monolithic takeover of the economy and society.
I'm for the individual.
I want the small people to be able to choose their own destiny.
And I don't like this very paternalistic approach.
And I would be more in favour of it if it worked.
