Property investors often talk about using debt to build wealth. In the share market, that's called gearing. With the BetaShares WealthBuilder range, investors can access moderate gearing into shares, and with the newly launched GG-BL, That means exposure to a diversified portfolio of around 1,300 global companies excluding Australia, all with no loan applications, credit checks, or margin calls. Gearing magnifies both gains and losses, so it's only suitable for investors with a very high tolerance for risk. You can learn more about the WealthBuilder range of ETFs at the BetaShares website. And don't forget to read the PDS and TMD to decide if it's right for you. BetaShares Capital Limited is the issuer.

It seems insane to me that you would have, as a deliberate design feature, a policy to cut supply. We should be doing everything we can to build more homes. Having lower taxes actually promotes more opportunities for all Australians. And that actually then funds the services people need to rely on, whether it's Medicare or social services. I think we're living through the lowest level of ambition in Australia in my lifetime by a mile.

Australia is a rich country. Over 100 years, we've been fueled by resources, immigration, and just generally better living standards. But over the past 20 years, and in particular the past six years, say since COVID, things seem to be getting harder, more expensive. And there seems to be this kind of growing consensus, how do we get out of this? Like, what are we going to do from here? We've got rising rents, rising interest rates, rising inflation, increased bulk billing costs, increased medical costs, increased electricity, so much more. Things seem to be getting just generally harder. I don't know about you, but personally, I feel like it doesn't seem like we're as optimistic as a country as we once were.
And with the latest round of the budgets and tax policy announcements, people seem to be questioning so much more than just what's happening here and now. Who better to talk about this and give us their opinion than a senator whose job it is to review all of this? And not only just a senator that happens to be elected, but someone who had a career focused on auditing the books. In this podcast, we'll be joined by Senator Andrew Bragg, who did indeed spend time at a global accounting firm in auditing. So we have someone who has this kind of in their DNA. We're going to talk not just about the budget, and we're not going to just talk about politics and all that kind of stuff. We're going to zoom in to tax and how that impacts us all, but then zoom out to why are we kind of feeling this way?
