But unfortunately, it's there.

It's like anything else, you try to compartmentalize it and you stick it somewhere and you just don't think about it.

The unfortunate part is the longer you do this job, you can only put so much stuff in that bucket before that bucket gets full.

That day was just a normal work day.

This particular incident happened at like 11-something p.m.

that night.

I got an alert on my phone that, hey, we'd had a shooting at this location.

Multiple shots had been fired.

Guys barricaded themselves.

He's holding two guns.

I think he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs, which he wasn't thinking in his right mind.

Basically was walking all over the place.

He'd be over on the left side, be over on the right side of the yard, come down to the front side by the road.

I mean, he was just roaming all over the place.

Our guys were doing everything we could to try to talk him out of any of this stuff.

He figures out he can hear our negotiator talking to him.

You can see him like looking and trying to figure out where he's at, kind of like vectoring in on his location.

And he starts walking closer and closer.

And as he gets like what we deemed way too close, one of our guys lit him up with a flashlight just so everybody could see him.

And as soon as he did that, he raised his shotgun up.
