The older adult center there is incredible.

And I worked with them for winter and spring.

And we did projects working with upcycled materials and natural materials using weaving as a base.

And it was just such a great experience.

They are the most incredible students.

I learned so much from them.

I had such a great time with them.

They would come to me with like

Hey, I want to make this.

And I'd be like, okay, let's figure it out.

And maybe somebody else would join the class that hadn't been there before.

And they'd be like, what are we going to make?

And they were like, well, like Shay can give you a project, but like, you can just tell her what you want to do and she'll figure it out with you.

It's like so charming.

And then we had a project where we made this community piece that I then finished, which I actually have here in Abu Dhabi right now.

And I will bring it back to New York.

But it's just such a wonderful experience.

And when I look at that piece, I see all of them literally in the threads of the weaving.

And it's all made of upcycled materials.

Everything is high plastic content, so things that can't be downcycled.
