I was often mistaken for my older cousins by name.

So I felt included, but then also always aware that I was a little different.

That's a very loaded question.

I was made aware at a very young age.

I was about three, having conversations with God.

And I heard Him tell me, I have you in this family for my reasons.

Just be patient.

There were some beautiful connections.

My grandparents were my best friends.

They were my protectors.

I never really bonded with my mother, or should I say she never really bonded with me.

So I didn't have that guidance.

My father was a doer, and I learned a lot from watching him, being involved with things that he did.

But I never felt like I had that maternal guidance that I really wanted.

I can understand what you're saying is a little confusing because things are not in the normal order that they would be.

And then you wonder, you know, who am I and why is this happening to me?

I just felt I found solace in recognizing that God made me and regardless of what family that I'm in, I'm here for a reason.

So my focus was always on why am I here?

Who can I help?

What can I learn about myself and then share with other people?
