He realized he was the shooter.
Wow.
He writes me a letter apologizing and saying to himself that he took on the responsibility of the life decision I made that led me to prison.
And he felt partially responsible for that.
At the time he wrote me, he was in prison.
When I got the letter, what it did is it triggered the old me.
I can have this guy taken care of.
Done.
For little or nothing.
Tomorrow.
Instantaneously.
Gosh.
And I was like, oh, this is how the universe tests what you really believe.
Oh, man.
That's heavy.
And so what I did is I sat down and I started to write him back.
And then I decided that I didn't owe him that letter because forgiveness for me was really about me.
So instead, what I did is I looked him up on the computer.
I just wanted to see what this guy who had been a ghost in my life, what he looked like.
So what he looked like, that ghost went away.
